Urban Hacking

This course deals with artistic interventions in public space. It deals with actions or amendments, which playfully refer to local characteristics and entice reflection of either the observer, or the neighbourhood. The goal of Urban Hacking is, consequently, to arouse attention by employing minor and deliberate creative actions. A chosen quarter in Hamburg will be declared an action platform. Ideas referring to this Area are to be developed, discussed and prepared at the University and, finally, installed on site. Every technique is an artistic tool: Performances, Paste Ups, Stencils, Performances, Urban Knitting, Paper Works, Photo Collage, Sticker Art…
