SERENDIPITY DAYS

"The term 'serendipity' refers to the accidental observation of something not originally sought that turns out to be a new and surprising discovery. A related, though not identical, concept is the broader idiom of 'a lucky coincidence.' Serendipity emphasizes an investigative effort that goes beyond mere chance, an intelligent conclusion, or resourcefulness."

This is from Wikipedia. I came across it by chance and liked it because it’s exactly what we can do during the two weeks of Pentiment: wander around with our senses on high alert or sit around with a thick sketchbook and capture whatever comes our way. It could be figures, words, light and shadow, colors, or associations—we’ll see.....

Then we’ll take a look at it and see what’s good, what can be left out, and where the stories lie. Even wonderful nonsense is welcome. This might result in a sort of drawing journal, an album, or an idea for a picture book.
